Blogging from my phone so I'm not promising much!
Thankfully I let my somewhat overprotective mama thing go and my worry about it being too cold out for little one and let Andrew convince me that we needed to get out of the house!!! So, Saturday we bundled up and headed to the park with our sleds and we ended up having the best time. Riggs still likes just pulling his sled best... Or just walking aimlessly as we follow saying, "this way!
After Saturday naps we went to Greenbay. There are a few hotels that you can pay to swim in their pools so we thought we would try it out. On the way we stopped to see where the packers play and took pictures at Lambeau field. The pool experience was one we were glad we tried, Riggs had fun, but we probably won't do it again. Sadly, I didn't get but one picture of the swimming and it isn't very good:(.
We had a fun day together as a family and it was great to get to be outside!
an·ec·dote (nk-dt A short account of an interesting or humorous incident. My attempt at recording and hopefully keeping up with interesting and humorous events in our little family!

Last week
We have been cooped up around here for sure! The weather has been a little too cold (0 with wind chill of -20) to do much of anything other than run in the gym and grocery store and head home! Last week we did brave it to get Riggs a haircut, he was growing a mullet! He wasn't a big fan, but he did enjoy his sucker afterwards.
I bought Riggs a little stool at hobby lobby that I am going to paint and put his name on it. I was hoping he would want to stand on it and help or watch me cook. Instead, I was making a dessert and he wanted to sit on the counter and eat the graham crackers instead:)
He loves his hat and apparently only knows how to put it on backwards and crooked! Because it's always on that way, covering one of his eyses and he is as happy as can be:)

No Longer Baby "Sissy"
Baby girl finally has a name other than the loving "Sissy" that we have been calling her since we found out we were having a girl!
So, in May we will be welcoming...
Harpin Reese Anderson
It was alot more difficult to decide on a name this time around. With Riggs, we knew whether he was a boy or girl that we were going to use Hayden (my maiden name) then, once we decided on a middle name we chose to call him Riggs since Hayden is becoming so much more common.
With baby girl we wanted something different and were leaning towards using family names again. I am not against picking a name just because I like it, but there was nothing we really loved.
To make a long story short...
Harpin comes from my side of the family, it is one of my great aunts names as well as my great-grandfathers name. Reese is a last name on Andrew's side of the family. It is just a coincidence that she and Riggs will have the same initials (which I'm not really crazy about but I'm not going to change it because of that!).
So, there you have it. We will have Riggs and Harpin...I love it!

Siesta Scripture Memory
I have joined Beth Moore's Siesta scripture memory team which you can find and follow here: http://blog.lproof.org/.
I happened upon this when I saw a facebook post from a friend and I was encouraged by the accountability that it would bring me and the fact that it gave me two weeks to memorize a verse. You memorize a scripture of your choice every two weeks and post on her blog the 1st and the 15th of every month. I started two weeks late but here is my first verse I have memorized for this year!
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and I with my song I will praise him.
Psalm 28:7
I'm not sure where I first saw this to decide that it would be one of the 24 verses that I try to memorize this year, but it stood out to me. First of all, because it's short, ok lets be honest, that is one reason! But really because I am going through a tough time here lately with having a positive attitude with where the Lord has me right now. I am extremely lonely, not loving my job and just plain feeling sorry for myself at times. But, this reminds me that He is my strength through this time and that no matter where we are he is TRUSTWORTHY and deserving of my PRAISE!
If you decide this is something that you would be interested in doing it's ok to pick up late and start the first of February!

Here recently
Riggs has been sick so we have been laying low! We have done alot of snuggling.
I bought him Popsicles for the first time which he called pancakes but it was really cute to see him try to eat it:).
Friday night I blew up the air mattress in the living room and we played and then A and I had date night pizza and a movie there.
So, not much going on around here lately... Just trying to get little man well!

It's a New Year
This is a little late...go figure! But, I wanted to post my thoughts on this new year and what we did/accomplished in 2012. Andrew brought this up on New Year's day and it's crazy for me to think that so much happened in a year.
In 2012..
- My baby turned a YEAR old.
- Andrew was placed for an internship in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
- We rented our house.
- I found a job in WI.
- We said goodbye to our friends and family.
- We found a place to live in WI.
- We moved across the country.
- We found out we were pregnant with our 2nd baby.
- We turned 29 and 30 years old!
- I flew home not even a week after moving for my dad to have open heart surgery.
I am sure there is so much more but these are the highlights! May seem like a short list but they are all HUGE answers to prayer all steming from the second one. Which leads to what we hope to see the Lord do in 2013.
Lord willing, in 2013...
- Andrew will complete a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
- Andrew will have a job with the federal prison.
- We will move yet again, hopefully closer to home.
- We will have a 2 year old and a newborn baby girl!
- I will find yet another job..hopefully part time or prn this time:)
- We will rent a house and look to buy.
God has been so VERY FAITHFUL to us and we are trusting in His faithfulness for this next year!
Along with the new year I have some goals for myself! I usually do not make New Year's resolutions, but I was having my quiet time a few mornings ago and was prompted to make some goals. As I prayed I realized how truly LAZY I am and this brought on my GOALS for this year. They all stem from one word...INTENTIONAL! I want to be more intentional in a few specific areas of my life. I have found myself in this place of laziness. I can blame it on many things...lonliness (I feed off of relationships), pregnancy, having an almost 2 year old, etc. All that to say, there is no excuse, and God requires my first and my best. So these are the areas I am praying to be more intentional.
- My time with the Lord--I am trying to wake up earlier than Riggs to have a quiet time and I am going to try to start doing scripture memory with Beth Moore's blog where you memorize 2 scriptures a month and are accountable by posting on her blog.
- My relationship/communication with my husband-- It's easy to get busy and miss time in prayer and real communication with one another.
- Time with Riggs--I have plenty of "time" with him but I can't say that I am very intentional and the older he gets the more important this is! I want to not just play, but teach him!
I guess I will end here as this turned out to be a little longer than I intended! So, Happy New Year! What are your goals for this year?
It's a....GIRL!
We planned our 20 week ultrasound a week early so that we could find out what we were having before we went home for Christmas. Our appointment was on Wednesday and we were going to leave on Friday. Well, plans changed due to the fact that there was supposed to be a blizzard coming Friday right where we lived in Wisconsin! Thankfully we got out of here on Wednesday night. It was quite a fiasco trying to plan it all last minute and leave, but we are thankful we did!
Because of this I missed my doctors appointment. But, we were blessed by the owner of an imaging place in Augusta who did our ultrasound so that we could still have a "gender reveal" with our families like we had planned! We closed our eyes during "that" part and had them put it in an envelope which we took straight to the bakery to have a cake made.
We had our families all together on Saturday night and had pizza and then the big reveal :). We decided it would be really fun to have our moms cut the cake together which would reveal blue or pink icing in the middle. So, they each cut into the edge of the cake and flipped it over and MUCH to our SURPRISE....
I think we were all just positive that it was going to be a boy! I'm not sure why, other than the fact that there are so many boys on the Anderson side. We were pleasantly surprised and thrilled to be adding a girl to our family!
Our Georgia Christmas: Part 2
Part 2 of our Georgia Christmas was spent at my parents house with my family. We enjoyed playing and being with mom, dad, Tanner, and Rachael. We went over there the afternoon of Christmas eve and went to the Christmas Eve service together and then to Rachael's parents for dinner. I can't believe I did not get the first picture of our little family dressed up on Christmas eve!:( Oh well! We had fun. Riggs had a great time with Santa coming to Gigi and Papa's house. Mom and dad always do a great job at making Christmas fun and surprising us with fun things!
I don't know how I didn't get any pictures of my parents!:( Sorry mom and dad.

Our Georgia Christmas: Part 1
Part 1 of our Georgia Christmas was with Andrew's family. Thankfully we were able to leave on Wednesday, instead of Friday when the blizzard was supposed to hit right where we live in Wisconsin. It was so stressful and so last minute changing our flight but we were very grateful to GET OUT OF HERE!:) We made it "home" Wednesday night about 12:30 midnight. Riggs did so great on the flight and the way home and it was nice to get to sleep in until 8am on Thursday morning!
We enjoyed the next 3 days with Andrew's parents, brothers, our sis-in-laws and niece and nephews. I am so thankful for in-laws that love me and that I can go there and it feels like home! It's so relaxing to be there and such a joy to be with all those precious kiddos! Aaron and Kathy live in Savannah and so Riggs was with Corban and Nolan for the whole three days and he LOVED them! He still says their names "Corbit" and "Nolit":) Love him!
Here's our time in a limited amount of pictures.
