Merry Christmas...Take 1

We spent the few days before Christmas in Appling at Andrew's parents and were able to be with both of his brothers and their families. We had a great time with cousins playing outside, opening gifts and making memories.

Andrew had to work Christmas Eve so he drove back to Alabama and worked and then I came with my mom and dad in tow on Christmas morning.  Yes, we traveled Christmas day!  Santa knew that my brother and his fiance wanted to be in on all of our Christmas fun so he waited until Saturday to come:)

So, back to our Appling Christmas...I will let the pictures do the talking!

We have been so blessed and are so thankful for family and the ability now to hop in the car and spend the weekend together!

Harpin is 7 months!

Little Harp, you are 7 months old and such a little JOY!

What you are up to...

  • You are sitting up, but still need support.
  • You are so smiley.
  • You are in size 2 diapers still.
  • You are in size 6-9 month clothing.
  • You are still nursing and eat every 4 hours.
  • Thankfully your nap schedule is flexible.  Most of the time we are on the go for your morning nap and you nap on and off in the car or in your ergo on Mama.  But, you always lay down around the same time as Riggs and sleep for 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the afternoon!
  • Sleeping through the night mostly but you still wake up every few nights and eat and go right back to sleep.
  • We started rice cereal and some veggies a little after you turned 6 months and so far you have had peas, sweet potatoes, squash, peaches, bananas and apples.
  • You love, love, love to watch your brother.
  • Thankfully you like the ergo baby carrier and it has been a lifesaver many a times!
  • You are scooting yourself all over the place on your belly but haven't shown any signs of crawling anytime soon.

We love you to pieces Harpin Reese:)

SO GOOD

I am often reminded of how much our lives have changed in the past 6 months and moving back closer to home is one of those ways...and it is SO GOOD!
It is such a blessing to be able to hop in the car and go home and to see friends.

That is just what we did about two weeks ago!  We woke up and drove Saturday morning to see Lindsey and AJ and stayed with them until after naptime and then drove to Canton to Jon and Courtney's and watched football and the kids played.
We spent the night with them and went to FBCW on Sunday morning.
Andrew and I both looked at each other and agreed that it felt like we had never left!

 Such a blessing.

And...It's always good when this is the view for the drive home:)

Visiting the "Big Man"

While my mom was here over Thanksgiving we went to the mall to visit Santa!
I tried to prepare Riggs that he was going to get to sit in his lap and tell him what he wants for Christmas.  Every time we talked about it he said, "I sit in Gigi's wap (lap)."  (His picture last year was with Santa and Riggs in Gigi's lap because he wouldn't do it any other way!)  Silly boy!
We got there early before any line and he ran right up and started talking but still didn't want to sit in his lap.  We took some time to talk and warm up and finally got him in his lap.  He was a little shy but did great and Harpin was mesmerized by him;)
