Back to it
I am now a full time nurse, wife and mommy! So far it has not been too bad. Andrew and his mom have traded the past 2 weeks keeping Riggs while I work and will the next two weeks and then my mom will start coming up. I think it will hit harder when I have to drop him off at daycare before coming to work! I can't imagine how early I am going to have to get up to get him ready and milk and stuff packed and get myself ready! We are loving being a family of three. I can't believe how much joy he brings us with just a simple coo or smile:)

Life Lately
Mom and dad came to visit this weekend and we spent all day Saturday out and about running errands and shopping at the mall. Mom took me to get a pedicure then we all went out to eat on Saturday night. They went to church with me and then took Riggs to cheesecake factory for lunch while I napped to get ready for work and Andrew finished up his huge paper that was due...praise the Lord that it is done and over!
I went back to work Sunday night. I am going to be working every Sunday night and then two days during the week. Doing this in hopes to increase my time home with little man and decrease on child care costs! The night went better than I had imagined. I didn't think I would cry, and I did't on Sunday, but I broke down at Saturday night. I didn't want to leave my baby and for some reason I was really anxious about returning to work after being off for 2 months! Thankfully the night went well and I am now a full time mommy, wife and nurse.
We took Riggs to the doctor today because of a concern we had with his left eye. His left eyelid is a little droopy and I wanted to make sure that it wouldn't effect his vision or cause him any problems. He is able to follow and see fine from what we can tell but the Dr. said it was about a 1mm difference and to make an appt with an opthamologist just to be safe. So we will see what they have to say in about two weeks.
Riggs rolled over from his belly to his back twice today (10 weeks old). Of couse when I went to get the video camera to try to capture it he was too tired to do it again!
And just for a little peak at sweet boy....
My 1st Mother's day
I had a great Mother's Day and I am so blessed to be the new mommy to sweet little Riggs. Andrew made me waffles for breakfast, we went to church and then Andrew took me to Japanese for lunch. We came home from lunch and I took a nice 2 hour nap and then went to Mexican for dinner with some friends! I got 2 really pretty hydranga plants to put in the yard and picked out a necklace with Riggs' name and birthday! The picture at the bottom is my gift from Riggs:) They tried to do his hand print in the nursery and that is what they got because he still like to make a fist all the time! I love mommyhood:)
What can I say...I can't seem to get a post done on time!

Crying it out
Baby boy is 9 weeks old and up until now he has not taken a nap in his crib. I usually talk to him and play with him or let him play on his play mat for about an hour after I feed him, or until he gets fussy and then hold him and put him in the swing when he falls asleep. Well, that worked for a while...until now. Everytime he falls asleep and I put him down he wakes up in less than 5 minutes and starts crying. So today I am trying to let him "cry it out." He has been crying for over 10 minutes now with arms and lets flailing in his crib...don't know how much longer I can take it! I hope we don't have a terrible napper on our hands!

10 Weeks
Riggs will be 10 weeks old on Friday and it is also the week that I have to go back to work! I don't know if I will ever be READY to leave him and go back, but I must. I am thankful that Andrew is done with classes and he and his mom will be trading off keeping baby boy for the first 4 weeks and then my mom will be coming up to keep him until the end of the summer! I will work my three 12 hr shifts in a row, or work Sunday night and then 2 days during the week while she keeps him and then in August he will go to the learning center which is affiliated with, and right across the street from the hosipital. I know that this will be a big change for all of us! I am anxious about leaving him and about scheduling, returning to work, finding time to pump at work, working a night shift, paying for daycare, and more but all I can do is trust God who has never failed us and has been so faithful to provide! Now off to run errands with my sweet boy:)

Riggs is 2 months!
Happy 2 months baby boy! Riggs turned 2 months old on May 4th and we went for his well baby visit and his 2 month shots. He did really well and only cried for a few seconds after the shots and then went right to sleep.

Easter Weekend
Better late than never!
We left on Wednesday after noon after Andrew's psychopharm final and got to Appling about 5 that evening. We hung out with Andrew's parents that night. Thursday Andrew went turkey hunting while my mom and I went out and about in Augusta and Thursday evening we cooked dinner with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. Andrew killed a turkey that he is very proud of (something weird about it having 5 beards, which is apparently unusual!)
Friday I went to town and did a little "window shopping" and met my dad for lunch and Friday night we ate dinner with Will and Jamie and the kids at Sue Sue and Gran Stans house and then dyed (sp?) easter eggs! We always have so much fun with them!
Saturday was the annual Easter egg hunt hunt at Walden Pond and so we went and took Riggs so that we could catch up with some friends that we haven't seen in a while and meet their baby boys!
Sunday we went to church and then had lunch with my mom and dad and Tanner and Rachael. That evening Grana and Papa kept Riggs while we went fishing for the evening!
