Riggs talking:)
I feel like this week has been a big change for Riggs! He is sleeping much better...5-6 hrs at a time now. He is alot more alert and will lay on the floor and "play" for 30-45 min before he is ready to nap again. And last night he started cooing and smiling at us a lot more! He is 6 weeks old and we love him more and more every day!
( i think i must have taken this video with my phone upside down...opps)

Easter Weekend
I am really looking forward to this weekend! Andrew has his last final tomorrow and we are headed home (well Appling..I still call there home too) as soon as he is finished for the rest of the week and the weekend. It is so nice that we will have more than just 2 days to spend so that we can see everyone and do all that we want to! For me, that is to spend time with my family, Andrew's family, see my neice and nephews, hang out with old friends and meet their babies for the first time, get a pedicure and just relax. It is something totally different for Andrew...I know he CANNOT wait to go turkey hunting with his brother and fishing as much as he can! Don't get me wrong, he wants to spend time with friends and family too but he is just glad that it can include something that he loves so much and give him a much needed break from school. It will be a great week/weekend and I can't wait to share pictures and all that we did:)
In the midst of all the fun and busyness of fitting all this into a few days, I want to sit back and reflect and thank God for the sacrifice he made to give His one and only son that we may have life and have life abundantly because of his sacrifce and the suffering of Jesus! What a wonderful gift that I daily take for granted! I pray that my heart would be thankful and prayerful on a daily basis for this gift and not just on a "holiday" weekend in which we celebrate!

Bullet Points
Sitting here on the couch on this WINDY Saturday afternoon, drinking a coke:) (caffine free of course) and watching my sweet baby nap while Andrew is gone to study for finals this coming week. Just wanted to relax and blog some things on my mind.
- I hate POLLEN!
- Time is going by WAY TO FAST! Went by work the other day to say hello and check up on my PTO (paid time off) and I only have 4 weeks left at home with my baby before its back to life.
- Thankful for my husband who came home from class 2 days last week and I went out shopping. One night to try to find a dress for Easter and the next to run a few errands without any interuptions to shove the pacifier in the mouth before screaming occured. It was nice!
- And speaking of Easter...why do we need an "Easter Dress"???!!!
- Enjoyed going to Lawrenceville today for my friend Lindsay's baby, Dylan, first birthday. It was so windy, but so cute seeing him.
- Going to lunch with our long time friends Lindsey and AJ tomorrow after church and looking forward to that.
- On a more serious note, if you read this and think about it you can pray for us and decisions on my work schedule and child care. I may have the option to work on Sunday nights and then two days during the week ( i work 3, 12 hr shifts and usually work days). If i do this I could find someone to keep Riggs for 4-5 hrs while I sleep on Monday morning and then have the whole afternoon with him and then only have to pay for child care part time while I work the other 2 days during the week. And, it could work out where Andrew didn't have class on Mondays until the afternoon and he could stay home and let me sleep a little..that would be GREAT! The good Lord knows and He is ALWAYS faithful to provide .
The baby calls! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Riggs is 1 month!
This post is a little late b/c we were gone on Riggs' one month birthday...but better late than never! I can't believe that Riggs is already a month old! It is crazy how slow the last few weeks of pregnancy pass by as you are waiting to meet the life that has been growing inside of you and then they get here and time flies at lightening speed. It could be because I am spending all day and night feeding every 3-4 hours still, holding, rocking or changing this sweet little thing but these last 5 weeks now, have gone by so incredibly fast! I don't want to even think about having to go back to work:(. So Riggs had his 1 month doctors appointment and checked out very well.
- You now weigh 10 lbs 6.5 oz (64%)
- You are 22 inches long (65%)
- Your head circumferance is 14 3/4 (31%)
- You grew out of your newborn diapers right around a month old and are now wearing size 1.
- You do great with tummy time and are holding your head up better every day.
- You are nursing well and still wake up at night every 3-4 hours (we are hoping that will change soon:)
- You like to nap in your swing and really like to nap on Daddy.
- You don't mind riding in your carseat at all and usually just sleep the whole time!
- We gave you a bottle for the first time when you were 3 weeks old so mommy and daddy could go out for a little while and you did great!
You are growing so fast and we love you more and more every day!
A few pictures of Riggs at one month Not so happy with the picture taking! Just a few different poses;) Poking that pitiful little lip out Riggs at his 1 month doctors appt.Thursday, April 7, 2011
Mini Vaca
Thanks to my mom, Riggs and I got to get out of the house for a few days and go to Beaufort and get a little sunshine. We went for three days to Beaufort and spent some time on the River where some very good friends live. We layed out for two days while little man napped in the dock house and then drove to hilton head for some shopping on our way home on Tuesday. It is crazy how long it takes to get things packed and ready with a baby. Both days that we went to Gee and Skeets (my friends grandparents...that's what they have always been to us as well), we didn't get out of the house until after 11 despite starting at around 8 or 8:3o in the morning. Here are a few pics from our mini vacation. The one with my dad is the night we got back. It was so sweet seeing my dad interact and talk to Riggs...in a way I have never seen him before! Not to mention, I realized that Riggs is a spitting image of my daddy! Which is fine with me...and even better if he has my daddy's laid back personality, willingness to serve and hard work ethic! Daddy (Papa) talking to Riggs after feeding him a bottle. Mom, Skeet, Me, Riggs, and Gee on their front porch. Me and Riggs on the dock, getting ready to head in for the evening. Riggs napping in his pack and play in the dock house...he was a trooper and is such a good baby so far! Mama (Grana) and Riggs on the dock. Thanks Mom for a good time!
