Can't get it off of my mind

I cannot stop thinking about what the next 2 years, specifically the 2nd year, will bring for our family! Andrew has one more year of school left starting in September and then we will be moving to BIG QUESTION MARK ??? for his internship. He will start sending in his applications around the end of the summer and hopefully be flying to multiple interviews from November until about January of next year. There are no APA accredited sites in Georgia that are a fit for his long term goals, or for the direction he has been going in school, nor are there really very many in the south.

So, I guess you could say that the fear of the unknown can be overwhelming to me. Although I am so glad to be on this life long journey with my husband, there are times that I can't help but wonder what it would be like to be settled down with him having a steady income or between the two of us, 2 steady incomes! I know that the Bible tells me, "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself"...but sometimes that is hard to cling to. I think about trying to sell our house in the state of our economy now, moving possibly across the country, finding a place to live, moving to that place with a baby and two big dogs, finding a job, finding a church and friends?! I do believe that it is already mapped out perfectly for us, as God has been so faithful to us over the past 5 years with 2 moves and 2 different school and jobs for the both of us quickly at both places! HE IS FAITHFUL and the Lord has always been so faithful to provide so I remind myself of that and how He has proven himself to me over and over again!

So...We shall see where the good Lord will take us on this journey and we should know probably in less than a year if we will become northerners, or enjoy the city or country life, or living out west? It is only for a year...I can do anything for a year:)

What an adventure we call life!

Friday's Favorites

Some of my favorite things these days...

  • I love Aveeno products, especially this face wash. It's all natural, smells great and removes make-up too!

  • This has become a good regular dessert run for us lately and we love it!

  • Etsy.com -- I think it has become a problem. It's so fun to look at baby boy clothes and then it's even more fun to wait on it to come in the mail!

  • I'm loving this outfit that I ordered for Riggs for the fall! I can see him now with a little turtle neck underneath scooting around:)

  • I'm loving the gift we have been given in our sweet baby boy!

  • I'm loving that I finally have a photographer and plan to get Riggs' 3 month pictures done Laura R. Taylor Photography! Can't wait.

Fathers Day Weekend

We were able to go to Appling from Thursday until Sunday morning this past weekend. We always love getting to go "home," but our time is always stretched between both of our families and friends that we both want to see and be able to spend quality time with. We had a great time with family and friends which usually includes us doing things separately, but we were able to go on a date with Will and Jamie and I was able to do lunch with a friend and our boys on Friday. We spent all day Saturday at Sue Sue and Granstans new pool with all the kids (doesn't happen very often)..and would you believe the only pictures I took are the ones below, and that means none of Rod and none of my baby boy!:( Sunday we took my daddy to Cracker Barrell for breakfast for Father's day and I had to come home in order to work Sunday night!
(below: Andrew and Georgia checking out pics on my phone, sweet Jensen, and Corban)
I am so thankful for the men in my life, and Riggs' life! Thankful for a daddy who has loved me and provided for me even when it has cost him, and not only that, he now gets to love on my son, such a sweet thing to see. Mr. Stanley (my father-in-law AKA Gran Stan) I am thankful for his example over the years of a Godly husband and father to Andrew. And I can't say enough about Andrew! He is such a great daddy...from the beginning he has been so willing to do whatever to help with Riggs. I love to hear him sing and talk to him (and boy does Riggs LOVE HIM!) I can only hope that Riggs will have the work ethic, gentleness and laid back demeanor of my dad, the smarts of Andrew and his love for the Lord and desire to serve others, the humor of Mr. Stanley and ability to draw people in through his personality and zeal for life and the Lord. God has definetly blessed Riggs' little life already.

Riggs is 3 Months!

Well, as I have been saying, better late than never! Riggs turned 3 months old on June 4th and I am just now blogging! So here goes...

-You are growing so much, but we don't go back to the doctor again until you are 4 months...but I'm guessing you weigh about 15 lbs, if not more!
-You are wearing size 2 diapers.
-You don't nap but about 45 min to an hour at a time if we are lucky!
-You sleep from about 8:30-9 at night until 7 am
-Despite our efforts to spread out your feedings, you are still nursing every 3-31/2 hours during the day.
-You love to talk and smile at mommy and daddy.
-You are rolling over alot! and mostly from your back to your tummy.
-You can sit in your bumbo for little bits at a time.
-You LOVE the fan and lights...those 2 things get your attention over anything else.
-You have found your hands and love to suck on them...haven't picked thumb or fingers yet, but I think it will be your fingers.
-Your eyes tell us alot before you even think about smiling or crying! They do say that the eyes are the window to the soul:)
-You have enjoyed having your Sue Sue and Grana hear to help take care of you while mommy goes to work...they have been such a blessing!
-We can't get enough of you little boy!"
