Riggs is 9 Months!

Riggs, you turned 9 months on December 4th. I'm sure I will say this many times as you grow and change, but I think this is my favorite stage right now:) So..What are you up to?
  • You are pulling up on things whenever you get the chance.
  • You are STILL in size 2 diapers.
  • You wear 9-12 month clothes
  • At your 9 month dr's appt you weighed 18lbs 7 oz (28th percentile) and were 29 inches long (77th percentile)
  • You still eat alot of pureed foods because you don't seem to be able to chew up soft things well enough yet and you gag. You do LOVE puffs and little pieces of banana.
  • You started playing peek-a-boo and when we say "where's Riggs?" you cover your face with your blankie.
  • You babble "dada da da da" ALOT! When are you going to say mama?!
  • Your favorite toy is still Sophie the giraffe...your face lights up when you see her.
  • You still like to play in your excer saucer and jumper.
  • You are starting to notice Sadie more and more and want to play with her food and climb on her bed! (yuck!)
  • You are a GREAT sleeper. You take two 2-2 1/2 hr naps a day and sleep from about 7:30pm-6:30am

We love you SO MUCH! Can't wait to celebrate your first Christmas:)

Special Message, Special Day

Today is a special day for a special person. And I was going to just post one picture and leave it at that, but these are too cute not to put more than one.

Mama/Grana,

We love you and are thankful for the many years and years to come that we have with you! I am so blessed and thankful that you are here to meet and see Riggs as I am reminded today that it is a blessing and not a given. I hope that you have a great day and know that you are loved and appreciated! Love you Mama!

Home again, home again jiggity jig!

I call Kennesaw and Appling home. No matter if we are going or coming I say we are "going home!" So, we went home (to Appling) again this weekend for the Anderson Christmas in Estill, SC. It was good to see family that we haven't seen in a while and catch up and introduce them to Riggs! Riggs had a great time and enjoyed riding on the hayride with all of his cousins:)
We rode to Estill with Sue Sue and Granstan and spent most of the day there and then Sunday morning we went to my mom and dads for breakfast so they could spend some time with Riggs (shh...we all skipped church:( )
Napping on the way!

These are just the few I took at my mom and dads Sunday morning for breakfast..all in our jammies:)

Thankful

We went to Augusta Wednesday morning and came home Saturday afternoon and are blessed to get to spend the holidays with both of our families. Unfortunately, Riggs was sick the whole time running fever and just plain cranky but we still had a great time.
Wednesday Riggs and I went to lunch with two of my long time friends, Farrar and Lindsey, at Mellow Mushroom. It is always good to catch up with them even if I go a long time without seeing them. Sad that I didn't take any pictures. I went over to moms and we made our first chocolate layer cake while Riggs napped and it turned out YUMMY! That night we ate dinner with the Andersons.
Thanksgiving day was pretty uneventful in the morning. Riggs and I took a trip to the grocery store with GranStan and I guess I can't say that was uneventful! Gran Stan can always make a shopping trip fun:) We played at home all day and then went to Grana and Papa's after nap time and played and ate dinner with them!
Friday daddy kept Riggs and I went to breakfast and shopping with mom and dad like we do every year. This year was a little different since the stores opened at midnight! We started about 6 am and it was like a weekday! All the crazies must have been out in the middle of the night;) Friday night we went to the Eubank cabin to visit and see some old friends and meet Jack's girlfriend! It was fun to catch up and enjoy the outdoor.
Saturday morning daddy went hunting and I went with GranStan back to the cabin with Riggs for a little bit. Everyone loved meeting him:) Then we ate thanksgiving lunch with the Andersons and made our way back home!
This is probably boring to most and I am sad that I didn't take more pictures of each thing that we did to document Riggs' first Thanksgiving:( I am not the best at taking pictures but hope to get better with the new camera I am getting for Christmas!
We are so blessed to have both of our families to spend the holidays with!
*pics to come*

More Milestones

Riggs pulled up for the first time today without falling on his face first;)
As we speak I am at work on my phone blogging really quickly. I was talking to Andrew and as we were talking he said Riggs pulled up on the coffee table for the first time. I told him to try to video tape him but not to go too far because he probably wouldn't know how to get back down. Sure enough, he said he sat right down and crawled over to him on the couch and did it again:) I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up!

Riggs is 8 Months!

My sweet little Rigsy pie you are growing up and changing OH SO MUCH! 8 months old already and I know the next few months until your first birthday are going to speed by with the holidays coming. I remember this time last year being pregnant with you and being so thankful for a healthy pregnancy and baby, for family and the holidays! I still have so much to be thankful for!
Well, lets see what you are up to...
  • You are still in size 2 diapers.
  • You wear 6-9 month clothes. You are so long and skinny some things are too short in the stride and too big around your tiny little waste.
  • You take two two hour naps and go to bed about 7:30 and sleep until 5:30 and we feed you and put you back to bed:) ( I think you may be spoiling us for any of our future children!)
  • You started crawling on your 8 month birthday exactly! You are still a little unsure of yourself and have a hard time on the hard woods but you will be at full speed soon I am sure!
  • You take 3 6 oz bottles and starting to take 8 oz. at night before bed.
  • You love toys with music.
  • You love your doggie sister Sadie and don't seem to mind her kisses too much:)

We love you more than you can imagine!

Uncle Tanner and Aunt Rachael decided last minute to come late Saturday night and spend the night with us and spend the day Sunday. We went to church Sunday and ate mexican for lunch and then went to the playground with Riggs! We enjoyed getting to spend some time with them:)

Then we came home and Riggsy napped and we ate pumpkin pie and carved a pumpkin:)
