My BIGGER Boy

I have been keeping notes in my phone over the past several months of funny things that Riggs has done or said and I need to jot them all down!

- R: What's that noise out der'?
Me: It sounds like a moto (what we call a motorcycle) huh?
  R: Nope, it's a grass cutter!

-I got out a new candle and lit it and R said "It's a candle mom?, It's a birthday party!?"

-He calls corn on the cob, CORN ON THE BOB!

-When he was sick a month or two ago I got a handkerchief to wipe his nose and because he is not the best at blowing I usually just pinch it and wipe. He came up to me and said, "my nose is running mama, chomp my nose"

- A computer is a PACUTER!

-He loves to play with "Blalaloons" (balloons)

-We were getting ready to leave the house...
Me: let's get your shoes buddy, it's time to go.
R: Wait Mama I gotta read my Bible first!

-His favorite movie a few months ago that lasted weeks on end was MONSTER JINX (monster's Inc.).  He has now moved on to Tangled and wants to watch it ALL the TIME!

-Andrew was outside yesterday vacuuming his car and Riggs got his big ice scraper from when we were in Wisconsin out of the trunk.  Andrew looked over and he was running it over his little riding four wheeler...
  A: What you doing buddy?
R: Washing my four wheeler so it will be strong and mighty!
OK then:)

-Andrew went to Target with the kids yesterday to get Riggs some medicine because he's got a little cold.
A: We are going to talk to the pharmacist to ask what medicine to get you!
  R:  I don't see the farmer
A: No, the pharmacist to ask about medicine.
R: (pointing to other people)  He's the farmer???

-I tell him all the time that he needs to stop growing and that I don't want him to get any bigger.   He will randomly look at me during the day and say, "You don't want me to get bigger!"  And he always says, "When I bigger...."  I'm going to hunt with daddy, I'm gonna drive the car, I'm gonna climb that ladder, play football...etc!

Harpin is 8 months old!

LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!

A few things my baby girl is up to these days...

  • You are in size 3 diapers.
  • Mostly in size 9 month clothes, but some 6 month still fit!
  • You are so laid back and easy going.  You are happy sitting in your exersaucer or laying on the floor playing.
  • You have not even acted like you are even close to starting to crawl!  It's so funny how different babies are, Riggs started crawling the day he turned 8 months.
  • You are still nursing 4 times a day and eating meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • I am trying to do more of a baby led weaning approach and offering you alot more solids that I did Riggs.  Although, there are alot of times that I don't have anything soft enough on hand and you eat a jar of baby food.
  • Some things you have tried so far...solids: toast, bananas, broccoli, green beans, cheese, carrots (you like to gnaw on raw ones), strawberries, sweet potatoes, corn and puffs.  Baby food: peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, applesauce, squash and pears.
  • You still ADORE your big bro and he can get a belly laugh out of you like no one else can.
  • You are doing better sleeping through the night and you sleep from 7-7:30 pm to anywhere from 7-8am.
  • You still suck your middle fingers on your left hand and I love it:)
  • You love to sit and play with any of your brothers toys.
  • You love bath time and mostly just sit and watch Riggs and want to suck on your wash cloth (which mama hates)
Just a few pics of you pretty girl!

I love this super excited face:)

I hope they always love each other this much!

This is what my assistant did the whole time.

And just for fun, my baby boy at the same age!

"Where's that silly elf?"

Just like alot of people, we pulled out our elf a few days into December.  Riggs got his elf his first Christmas, but this is the first year that he really could understand the story and play along:)

When we read the story we asked him what he wanted to name his elf and he immediately responded and said, "Treat."   So, our elf is unofficially named Treat because if you asked him again what his name is he will respond with something equally as silly every time!

Every morning Riggs would wake up, look for his elf and come and get me and say, "Mama, look at dis siwwy elf!"

We were back and forth to Appling and to visit friends over the holidays and the elf didn't join but I did want to post pics of what our silly elf was up to!

Merry Christmas...Take 2

The kids and I spent Christmas Eve in Appling and went to the Christmas Eve service and then to dinner at my future SIL parents house. We woke up the next morning and drove home with my parents.

We waited until Saturday to do Christmas so that we could all be together. I'm so thankful Santa knew when to come;)
