Things to Remember

Our friends had a pig roast as a going away party for us last night and I will post pics from that soon. But I wanted to document of few things that Riggs is doing these days, at almost 16 months, so that I don't forget!
  • His vocabulary is blossoming all of a sudden.  Some new words include: Uh Oh, Baby, down
  • His eating is still HORRIBLE, so any advice is welcome.  He will eat any bread or fruit but meats and veggies are difficult.
  • He LOVES the water, the pool or hosepipe just gets him so excited.
  • He loves reading and will bring us the same book over and over again and try to back up and sit in our lap to read it to him:)
I love every stage and feel so blessed to be his mama!

First trip to WI

A and I left Thursday morning and flew into Milwaulkee, WI and then drove 2 hrs to Appleton where we will be living.  We spent Thursday looking at different houses.  Friday morning we woke up bright and early with the sun shining in the window at FIVE AM!  I had my interview at 11am.  I interviewed with 7 people from the two different hospitals and thanks to prayers I was not the least bit nervous.  I feel like it went really well and look forward to hearing from them.  We spent the rest of the day looking for a home. I did not take the first picture and I wish I would have but we were really busy going from place to place.  We left not having anything definite, but we turned in applications to three different houses and have to wait on credit checks and the such to go through!
Friday night we ate dinner at a restraunt on the Fox River with one of the current interns that went to Argosy with Andrew.  Saturday with just looked around, went to the outlet mall in OshKosh and then Andrew spent FOREVER:) in the huge Cabela's there. Overall, we had a fun time.  Although it is a little over whelming I know that God's faithfulness will carry us through!

Some differences in GA and WI...
  • NO sweet tea:( and mostly Pepsi products..maybe this will make me drink more water.
  • Detached garages in most of the houses.
  • most ALL of the houses have full basements.
  • Not nearly as many trees and no pine trees.
  • No "neighborhoods"  there are three main Roads running in Appleton and the houses are just on roads of the the main roads.
  • The homes are smaller and more outdated.
  • People are much more friendly and helpful than people made me believe.
  • The weather in perfect this time of year...high 80 while we were there.
  • Lots of parks and trails.

Father's Day

I am so disappointed that I forgot to get a picture of the three of us after church, but Riggs was exhausted and fell asleep in the car so we came straight inside:(.  All that to say, we had a pretty laid back Father's Day.  Andrew wanted to just come home and make sandwhiches for lunch, so that's what we did.  Then, we all took naps and went to the pool and played.  We had a fun, relaxed day as a family.  Since we didn't get a picture after church I asked our neighbors to take a picture of the three of us together.  They aren't the best pics but here are some from today!
Taking Daddy his present.

Sweet Daddy

I love this baby so much!

Sweet little cracker face

LOVE!

He loves his daddy!

Silly boys:)

I am so thankful for the Father's in my life!  My dad had been such an example of love, sacrifice, hard work, a quiet spirit and so much more to me!  I am SO beyond grateful that Riggs gets to grow up knowing and being loved by him!  Also, my  father-in-law.  I couldn't ask for a better example of a Father to my husband.  He has been an example to me of loving his family and loving other people in such a unique way.  And of course, Andrew.  He is such an AWESOME Daddy:)  It makes my heart smile to think of how many times I walk in and he is chasing Riggs around the house, or reading him a book, or playing in the floor with him.  I couldn't ask for a better partner and Father for Riggs.  I look forward to seeing him teach and lead our children!

Riggs is 15 Months Old!

My updates on Riggs are getting alittle further apart, but I wanted to just continue to update as we take him for his well visits and have his stats, ect.  Here is the latest on our sweet little fella'.

  • You weigh 22.5 lbs
  • You are 31.5 inches long
  • They say you are a tad below where you should be right now with vocabulary but I have a feeling your words will take off soon!  Right now you say:  Mama, Dada, Up, Dog, Hello (Hi-da).
  • You are much more steady on those skinny legs of yours and are beginning to take off and run.
  • You still are a horrible eater and I'm hoping this 6:30-7am.  We have definetly been blessed with a great sleeper.
  • You love us to read to you and you will go to your room and bring us books. Your favorites right now are any books with animals or tractors and the "Opposites" book.
  • You love to play outside.
  • Recently for naps and at night when we can tell you are getting sleepy, we will say, "Riggs, lets go night night" and you walk back to your room.
  • You still LOVE animals and animals noises.  One thing I really don't want to forget!  Some animals you can't make the noise but you will try to mimick whatever face we make when we say the animals sound.  Ex: daddy shakes his head back and forth and says "gobble, gobble gobble" for the turkey and all you do is shake your head back and forth! It's SO CUTE:)
  • You love to go into the closet and pull all my jewelry out of the box, or play in the tupperware drawer in the kitchen.
  • You can't sleep without your lovie.
  • You pucker your lips and make a smacking noise when we ask for a kiss.
We love you so much little man!

Family (Redneck) Fun

Andrew went home this past weekend to spend some time with his dad before we move, which included pig hunting and fishing.  My mom and dad came to keep Riggs because I had to work the weekend.  I got off on Saturday night and my brother and his gf showed up and then next thing I know Andrew drove up (a day early) with a huge smoker behind his truck.  Our friend Jon had it for a cookout with his work and let Andrew borrow it.  So, what was all this for?  Andrew also brought home a wild PIG!  I was supposed to work Sunday as well but I got someone to come in for me at 12!  So, we had a little family cookout and the guys really enjoyed getting to prepare and cook the pig and it actually turned out really good:) The pictures will speak for my title choice!

The looks we got when people drove by were priceless!
Nothing better than prepping on trash bags on the tailgate of the truck:)

A little after lunch play time with "Uncle" Matt

Silly boy

Not the best picture of us, but I realized we didn't really have any pictures of us together and I love this girl and am so THANKFUL for her and Matt in our lives!
