Here we go

Well I posted yesterday about Riggs pulling up onto his knees and that we lowered his mattress. My, oh my, how they change and learn so quickly! Usually, Riggs falls asleep on his own and very quickly. When I put him down he reaches for his lovey, finds his thumb and he's out. Well today he decided to play for about twenty minutes and when I went in to check on him I couldn't help but laugh! So, out comes the bumper too because he was able to put his feet up on it and bounce. Here we are, fourty minutes of playing later and he is finally asleep! Stay tuned for the vide0:)

Mile Stones

It's funny to me how excited I get over each and every one of the mile stones that Riggs meets. I find so much joy the first time I see him do something new! Today was one of those days. I was supposed to work today and got a call at 5 am that we only had 6 patients and that I was going to be delayed. So, I put my head back on the pillow in an attempt to snuggle up and go back to sleep. Well, around 5:20 I heard little man stirring and hoped he would go back to sleep, but 10 minutes later I finally got up to get him and feed him and this is what I found. I loved walking in to his sweet smiling face just waiting on me to rescue him from his crib:) The picture isn't very good because I took it with my phone and the flash was bright for him in the dark.
He was just sitting there on his knees looking over the edge with a BIG grin on his cute little face, as if to say "look at me mommy!" Needless to say, Andrew and I lowered his mattress today.
He wants to crawl so bad too. He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth and grins at whatever it is he is dying to reach and then drops down and just scoots:) WOW, how things are going to change once we have a crawler on our hands! I love having the priveledge of watching him change and grow and discover things in this world! I am beyond thankful for a healthy baby boy!

Slacker

I feel like I have been such a slacker lately in all areas...

I haven't been to the gym probably in over 2 months and I was going atleast 3-4 times a week. I do miss it but life has been busy and all at the same time I feel like I'm not doing much ! If all of that even makes sense. I am loving life with my little man, but with an unpredictable schedule, two naps, feedings, ect. we just do alot at home! Don't get me wrong, I love it and have really enjoyed relaxing, playing, reading, ect. but it's just plain DIFFERENT!

I have also been a slacker when it comes to house chores, cleaning, cooking, washing clothes, grocery shopping, ect. I am most definetly type A and a little OCD at times but I am slowly learning to let this go and to enjoy my baby boy! I love to clean and have everything fresh and cleaned all at once but that is not how it happens these days. One week I may clean the toilet the next week I scrub the floors...AKA it's NEVER all done at one time and I am becoming OK with that.

Another area and a much more important one that I am slacking in is my time with the Lord. I don't know how I can be committed and doing really well disciplining myself to read and spend time in prayer one week and then the next week starts off busy for whatever reason and I get totally off track for periods of time that are just too long! All I can do is pray for a deeper desire and a discipline to get back on the wagon!

One last area is my relationship with my husband. It's not so much that I am being a slacker it just has to do with what is now our new reality! We love love love spending every minute we can with our precious baby but it doesn't leave much for mommy and daddy time. We attempt dates but they always, as you would expect, revolve around precious baby boy, buying for a smile, feeding, ect. and leave little time for actual communication. We love our new role and mom and dad and have definetly learned alot about one another and love one another more for it but it has definetly changed our lives and we wouldn't want it any other way right now:)

So, all in all, life is good! Life is different but oh so abundant and oh so MUCH to be thankful for!

Riggs is 7 months old!

I am going to try to get this post done, including pics, and posted before you are 8 months old!
I really can't believe how fast you are growing...time needs to SERIOUSLY SLOW DOWN!
What you are up to...
  • Went to the Dr. for your flu shot today and you were 17lbs 13oz (they didn't measure you b/c it wasn't for a checkup really)
  • You are in size 6-9 month clothes
  • Still in size 2 diapers
  • You are a GREAT eater and are eating three meals a day with bottles in between.
  • You are finally sitting up really well, but you still don't love it. You would much rather roll around every where.
  • You have started getting up on all fours and rocking...I can't fathom having a crawler!
  • You think your new wake up time is between 4:30 and 5:30..TOO EARLY!
  • You are still a daddies boy and will just chuckle at him:)
  • You have started "talking" more and babbling...have said "dadadada"
  • Thumb sucker!
  • You like to go for runs and walks in the jogging stroller, or do anything outside for that matter. But, the minute you are in a stroller and are in doors you start screaming...means no shopping for mama:)

We love you OH SO MUCH! You are such a handsome blue eyed boy and we could not be more thankful for you!
